Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), is a debilitating condition characterized by persistent fatigue that does not improve with rest. It often comes with other symptoms, such as muscle pain, cognitive difficulties, and sleep disturbances. CFS/ME can have a significant impact on both physical health and emotional well-being, making daily activities difficult and leaving individuals feeling isolated.
Counselling provides emotional support for individuals coping with the challenges of CFS/ME. Therapy helps individuals manage the emotional impact of chronic fatigue, develop strategies for pacing their activities, and address feelings of frustration or sadness related to their condition.
Through therapy, individuals learn to develop emotional resilience, helping them cope with the ongoing challenges of living with a chronic condition. Therapy also supports individuals in finding ways to maintain a positive outlook and manage stress despite physical limitations.
Although CFS/ME cannot be cured through counselling, therapy helps individuals improve their quality of life by addressing the emotional and psychological effects of the condition. Counselling focuses on empowering individuals to regain a sense of control and well-being.
